So Abraham called that place The LORD Will Provide. And to this day it is said,"On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided."(Genesis22:14)

We all know the story of God testing Abraham. In Genesis Abraham was called God's friend and willing to sacrifice his son,Isaac, because God commanded him to do.Abraham has this only son,Isaac, in his old age but he still believed and followed what God commanded. What's a great confidence to do it!

Yesterday I reread Genesis, the familiar story of Abraham was attracted me and when I read, "So Abraham called that place The LORD Will Provide. ...'On the mountain of the LORD it will be provied.'" Wow! It's amazing, isn't it? Presently all the world is suffering economic crisis and many people are laid off. Everyone is trying to find a way out of the financial difficulties, but here let's go back to Genesis 22:14 "...On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided." Do you have this kind of confidence believing his promises? I admit it's not easy to accomplish; however, we can try so how about get your Bible reading chapters 17-22 in Gensis and for the further learning of getting God's promises you can turn to chapter 4 in Philippians and chapter 11 in Hebrews.

May God bless you and multiply your pocket!

Ingredients
Butter, for greasing
2 cups bread flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 tablespoon dry active dry yeast
3/4 cup lukewarm water
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons honey
1 cup dried longan
1/2 cup yogurt drink
2 tablespoons sesame seeds

Directions
1. Grease a pan with a little butter.
2. Strain the flour into a large bowl, and stir in the salt and dried yeast. Pour in the lukewarm water, oil, and honey. Mix together to form a dough.
3. Place the dough on a lightly floured counter and knead for about 5 minutes.
4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size; meanwhile, cook the longan and yogurt in low heat until longan are soft; remove the soucepan from heat and let cool.
5. Knead in the cooked longan and sesame seeds. Shape the dough and place in the pan.
6. Cover and stand the loaf in a warm place for a further 30 minutes or until springy to the touch.
7. Bake in a prepared oven, 390 degrees F (200 degrees C), for 30 minutes or until a hollow sound is heard when the bottom of the loaf is tapped.
8. Transfer the loaf to a wire rack and let cool completely.

Flowers wither easily, chocolate is too sweet, how about diamonds? No, that costs a lot of money...
Are you thinking the gift for Valentine's Day? Here is a good choice to choose:the valentine's cookies, melt in your mouth and heart.

Ingredients
2/3 cup butter, chilled and cubed
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup superfine sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Directions
1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F(180 degrees C) and lightly grease a cookie sheet.
2.Strain the flour and vanilla extract in a large bowl and rub in the butter with your fingertips until the mixture resembles fine bread crumbs.
3. Stir in the superfine sugar and to form a smooth firm dough.
4. Roll out the dough in 1/2 inch thick on a lightly floured surface and use the biscuit cutter to cut out the cookies.
5.Bake in a prepared oven for 12-15 minutes until the cookies are a light golden color.
6. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack and let cool.
PS If you have the heart-shaped cookie cutter you can use it to make the cookies heart-shaped.

Scones are the dessert too delicious for me, but in Taiwan people aren't familiar with this British dessert; therefore, it's hard to find them in shops or bakeries. Bisji(pronouned in Chinese, which means,"Biscuit") is the only one that tastes like scone you can find in KFC but not exactly the same taste as the real, british scone.
This is the recipe of English scones and I added fresh orange juice and the slices to make the scones not too greasy.

Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons butter, chilled and cubed
1/2 cup chocolate chips
5 tablespoons orange juice
1/4 cup slices of orange

Directions
1.Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F(200 degrees C) and lightly grease the baking pan.
2.In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter and use fingers to make the mixture into crumbs. Stir in the chocolate chips and mix in the orange juice to form a dough.
3. Roll the dough on a floured surface into 1 inch thick . Use the round biscuit cutter to cut out 8 scones and press a couple of slices of orange on the top.
4. Bake in prepared oven 12 minites.

In you O Lord, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
deliver me in your righteousness.
Turn your ear to me,
come quickly to my rescue;
be my rock of refuge,
a strong fortress to save me.
Since you are my rock and my fortress,
for the sake of your name lead and guide me.
Free me from the trap that is set for me,
for you are my refuge.
Into your hands I commit my spirit;
redeem me, O Lord, the God of truth.

I hate those who cling to worthless idols;
I trust in the Lord.
I will be glad and rejoice in your love,
for you saw my affliction and knew the anguish of my soul.
You have not handed me over to the enemy but have set my feet
in a spacious place.
Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I am in distress;
my eyes grow weak with sorrow,
my soul and my body with grief.
My life is consumed by anguish and my years by groaning;
my strength fails because of my affliction,
and my bones grow weak.
Because of my enemies,
I am the utter contempt of my neighbors;
I am dread to my friends- those who see me on the street flee from me.
I am forgotten by them as though I were dead;
I have become like broken pottery.
For I hear the slander of many;
there is terror on every side;
they conspire against me and plot to take my life.

But I trust in you, O Lord;
I say, "You are my God."
My times are in your hands;
deliver me from my enemies and from those who pursue me.
Let your face shine on your servant;
save me in your unfailing love.
Let me not be put to shame, O Lord,
for I have cried out to you;
but let the wicked be put to shame and lie silent in the grave.
Let their lying lips be silenced, for with pride and contempt
they speak arrogantly against the righteous.

How great is your goodness, which you have stored up for those
who fear you, which you bestow in the sight of men on those who
take refuge in you.
In the shelter of your presence you hide them from the intrigues of men;
in your dwelling you keep them safe from accusing tongues.

Praise be to the Lord, for he showed his wonderful love to me
when I was in a besieged city.
In my alarm I said, "I am cut off from your sight!"
Yet you heard my cry for mercy when I called to you for help.

Love the Lord, all his saints!
The Lord preserves the faithful, but the proud he pays back in full.
Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.

Strawberries are now in season so my new recipe of muffins is strawberry flavour, of course. I used to make fresh strawberry jam to bake the cakes and muffins but I found a new brand of jam just like homemade from store recently. So this recipe isn't used fresh strawberries; however; it takes you less time to bake tasty muffins!

Ingredients (8 servings)
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1 cup strawberry jam
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
This recipe I made in my K2 and G1 classes and both of these classes liked it very much; moreover, children were having fun making their "eatable snowballs!"

Ingredients
500g oatmeal
100g butter
100g sugar
50g unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tbsps coffee
1/2 tbsp vanilla extract
100g coconut flakes

Directions
1. Combine butter, sugar, oatmeal, cocoa powder, coffee and vanilla extract and mix well.
2. Roll the dough into small balls and then roll them in the coconut flakes.
You can eat the snowballs right away or refrigerate them if you prefer your balls taste like the real, cold snowballs with chocolate flavour.

Moreover, I used to bake muffins and cakes because I prefer the smooth and moist texture of cakes to dry and hard texture of bread. Actually, I have had bought too much bread with bad taste so I didn't expect any bread could be tasty, honestly. However, this recipe changes my opinion of bread!

Follow me the directions and you can make the moist and fine bread as well.

Ingredients
3 cups white bread flour
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 tsp salt
2 tsps active dry yeast
3 tbsps brown sugar
2 tbsps oil
1 1/4 cups lukewarm water
Butter, for greasing

Directions
1. Lightly grease a loaf pan with a little butter. (I don't have any loaf pan so I used baking pan instead )
2. Strain the flour and unsweetened cocoa into a large mixing bowl.
3.Stir in the salt, dried yeast, and brown sugar, mixing well.
4. Pour in the oil along with the lukewarm water and mix the ingredients together to make a dough.
5. Place the dough on a lightly floured counter and knead for 5 munites.
6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in warm place for about 1 hour or until the dough has doubled in size.
7. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place the dough in the prepared pan, cover, and let rise in a warm place for a further 30 minutes.
8. Bake in a preheated oven, 300 degrees F (150 degrees C) for 30 minutes or until a hollow sound is heard when the bottom of the bread is tapped. Transfer the bread to a wire rack and to cool completely. Cut into slices to serve.

** The bread can be lightly toasted.**
